Heron Maps Oxford Canal Map

A colour map of the Oxford Canal from Oxford to Hawkesbury Junction and to Coventry Basin showing facilities available to boats along with points of interest, pubs, shops and walking routes.

The Oxford Canal map shows the navigational route and surrounding areas at 1:50,000, with detailed town plans at 1:12,500. It includes navigation and historic information, visitor moorings, marinas and boatyards, boat hire centres, facilities for the boat user, sailing and boat clubs, shops, post offices and distance markers. There is also information for tourist such as places of interest, pubs, nature reserves, parks, churches, national cycle routes, public toilets, and camp sites.

The boating Oxford Canal map is a two-sided 'folding' style map with information spanning columns and rows (2 columns x 6 rows) which folds up neatly in to one panel when not in use or where a panel is of current use.

Side One:

Introduces the Oxford Canal and provides a background into the history whilst providing useful cruising information and distances. Here you will find the map legend indentifying all the facility symbols and the scale of the map so you can identify distance and time more easily. With a detailed large map of Oxford City the map moves up through Kidlington, passing through Somerton, Deddington, Adderbury, and on to entering Banbury.

Side Two:

Side two starts at Banbury, passing Cropredy, Napton on the Hill, and through to Braunston, reaching the Grand Junction Canal. Use the Heron Maps Grand Union Canal Map to continue your journey to Birmingham, Northampton, or Milton Keynes. The Oxford Canal continues onto Rugby and into Coventry where it joins the Coventry Canal.
